About the Company
- Since 1983 Atlas General Contractors has been Building from the Crystal Coast to the Triangle. The Owner and Manager: Jim Johns grew up in Carteret County, going to school at West Carteret High, working on fishing boats and doing construction in the summers.
- In 1982 Jim moved to Raleigh and started Atlas General Contractors; Building and Developing Subdivisions, including New Homes Construction, Remodeling and Renovations, Commercial Construction of Office, Retail and Medical Space as well as Real Estate Brokerage.
- With over 30 employees Atlas GC partnered and built one of the largest Insurance Repair Companies in the Triangle for Fire, Flood and Wind Restoration. They were able to help hundreds of families rebuild their homes from the Coast to the Triangle after Hurricanes Fran, Floyd, and Florence devastated NC.
- Jim now lives full time in Carteret County and is enjoying the many treasures of the Crystal Coast including being back with long time friends and family. Jim shares 40 years of Building Knowledge and continues to personally manage the Design, Estimating, Construction, Craftsmanship and Quality for Atlas General Contractors.
